Preparing for you Mini Studio Session…

Before the shoot:

  • Perez Portraits requires a phone or video consultation to go over specific details before your shoot. We go over questions to cover how we can best welcome you, who will be joining us, how we can get the most out of your shoot and what you plan to do with these photos after, and of course, this is an excellent time for introductions!

  • We encourage you to keep the day of your shoot mostly or completely open simply because, we want this experience to be joyful and as stress-less as possible. Another reason for keeping your schedule open is because we suggest a few places to grab food and parks to visit after your session. This gives the family something to look forward to so smiles are inevitable.

  • As far the family wardrobe, coordinate, but please, don't match exactly, unless you wanna be cute and cheesy like that. Simply, select a color palette or theme and have each family member choose outfits that complement each other. If this is doesn’t work for you, simply dress comfortably, that is more important to me than your style.

During the Shoot:

How can we make the most of our portrait session?

  • Our Mini Studio is an extension of our home located in Tacoma. We welcome you as our own family and hope you feel comfortable during this photo session while knowing our sun soaked yard is yours for breaks or pleasure. Our style of work is an intersection of documentary and professional portraits accompanied with light prompts and posing if needed. Most times, just the way you are is more than enough. Simply put, through your comfort and joy as a family we hope to capture your intersection of life and art.

Welcomes, Warm-ups and Interactions:

First thing to know; we are HONORED to have you in our humble home studio. Secondly, we are on your time, so if you’re in no rush, neither are we. Shoots can take 1.5- 2 hours

  • Our Setup: Simple & Focused with opportunities to engage: Working in a studio has a few advantages; we offer live viewing of your photo on a monitor immediately after every shot so you can see just how you can shape your final image and also, kids love the the simple cause and effect, image after image

  • Interactive Portraits: The intersection of life and Art:

  • In our Studio lies an old relic of the past, an old projector you might have seen in your classroom from the bygone days. With this brilliant tool, you and your family can fill your portraits with colors, shapes & silhouettes.

  • All of this points in the direction of a memorable experience that hopefully, brings joy that pours into your photos.

After the shoot: We have a bunch of photos…Now What?

  • After your photo session, we will deliver select photos to you in a viewing gallery within 4-6 weeks along with a platform to order custom prints. These include various sized prints, calendars and photo booklets. Files of each photo is accessible upon purchasing a package.

  • From there we hope the photos age as well as you do and remind you of the simple beauty of family and hospitality.
