4: Talking Grounds & Imperfections
Shooting a prime lens is an excellent way to learn how to separate the background from the foreground. This choice of choosing what to focus on is another wonder of creating a photo with your finger print on it!
Paying attention is key; in any given moment, something special might come about. Here the reaction of the Flower Girl’s was caught showing what a beautiful bride is before her.
Embracing Imperfections
Shooting in this style mans you trade your camera’s perfect focus function for your own focus and often times you might miss your mark. But what keeps your eyes looking at a photo? Is it the story, is it reliving the experience? When I look at this photo, I am reminded by the movement and excitement. My eye focuses on the bridesmaid in the rear and slowly moves forward to the bride and her focused attention on getting to the Ceremony.
A frame is a painting and a painting is a playground. So turn off the auto focus, shoot manual, and see that wrinkles and imperfections are part of the magic.
